  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture alternating with buttermilk.
  4. Stir in baking soda and vinegar mixture; fill muffin cups about 2/3 full and bake for 18–20 minutes.
  5. Cool completely before hollowing out centers and filling with the creamy mixture made from cake crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, and melted butter.
  6. Frost with buttercream and decorate as desired.
