  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon capers (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté chicken until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Deglaze with white wine (or broth), scraping up browned bits. Add chicken broth and lemon juice; reduce for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in remaining butter and optional capers; return chicken to pan and spoon sauce over it. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
