  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture; add red food coloring until well combined.
  5. For ganache: heat heavy cream until just boiling, pour over chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  6. Fill cupcake liners halfway with batter, add a spoonful of ganache in the center, then top with more batter.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes until edges are set but centers jiggle slightly.
  8. Cool before serving to enjoy the molten center.
