  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and confectioners' sugar; set aside.
  3. Whip egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the vanilla extract and dry ingredients.
  4. Pipe small circles onto prepared sheets, spacing them apart. Let rest for 30 minutes until they form a skin.
  5. Bake for about 15 minutes until they rise slightly and form feet. Allow to cool completely.
  6. For the buttercream, beat butter until creamy, then add confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Pair similar-sized macaron shells and fill with buttercream.
