  • 1 lb white fish fillets (cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 8 small tortillas

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, pour buttermilk.
  2. Dip each fish fillet into the buttermilk and then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry fish fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Combine cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, mayonnaise, honey, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl to make the slaw.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing fish in warmed tortillas and topping with cilantro lime slaw.
