  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter and caramelize sliced onions with sugar until golden brown (15–20 minutes).
