  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, oil, and two cups of flour; mix well. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, then place it in a greased bowl covered with a cloth to rise for one hour.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide it into 16 pieces, roll each into a rope, and shape into bones by cutting slits and twisting the ends.
  5. Allow shaped breadsticks to rise on a baking sheet for another 45 minutes.
