Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until mixed but not overworked. Shape into four equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms and onions until softened. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce while scraping up any brown bits from the pan. If desired, stir in flour for thicker gravy.
  4. Return patties to the skillet with gravy and simmer for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
